The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press has given its top prizes to two members of the Chrysler family of vehicles. The 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel was recognized as Truck of the Year Maillot Edinson Cavani , while the 2015 Chrysler 200 was awarded Car of the Year. The announcement was made at the 2015 Denver Auto Show.



These prestigious awards are given by the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press. The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel beat several newcomers to be named the Rocky Mountain Truck of the Year. This was a tough class this year. The 1500 won its prize despite the introduction of a redesigned Ford F-150 and the re-introduced Chevy Colorado. The other finalists were the GMC Canyon and its cousin, the Chevy Silverado Heavy Duty edition. The 1500 EcoDiesel has the distinction of being the only diesel in its class. The clean diesel technology reduces emissions by about 90 percent. It also offers best-in-class fuel economy. The intelligent powertrain earns 29 mpg on the highway.




Ram offers a number of ways to improve the truck鈥檚 fuel economy and performance. A stop-start system reduces gas mileage by cutting power at red lights. Grille shutters can open and close to improve aerodynamics. Pulse-width modulation adds precision to the flow of fuel through the engine. A thermal management system reduces the effects of heat when the going gets tough.
